What is the deadline to file a notice of appeal?

For civil appeals: File a notice of appeal in writing or through a notice of appeal fillable form (Notice of Appeal, APP-002) with the clerk of the superior court from which the appeal is taken (Cal. Rules of Court, rules 8.100).

For criminal appeals: A notice of appeal must be filed in the Superior Court (Cal. Rule of Court, rule 8.304).
