2-1. Where do I file the notice of appeal?

You should file the notice of appeal in the superior court with a $655 filing fee. Make a check payable to the Clerk of the Court of Appeal for this amount. (Rule 8.100(b).) You also need a deposit of $100 made payable to Clerk of the Superior Court. (Govt. Code, § 68926.1.) If you are indigent, you may not have to pay the filing fee.
