4-8. When can I expect to receive a ruling on a writ?

There is no hard-and-fast rule. The court tries to place pending writs on the court's weekly writ calendar as expeditiously as possible. The calendaring of any particular writ depends upon the urgency of the relief, the adequacy of the record, whether preliminary opposition is requested, the size and complexity of the writ petition and the other matters on the writ calendar.
