




The Law Library
General Information
The library at the Court of Appeal, Sixth Appellate District serves the justices and research attorneys at the court and is not open to the public. The library contains approximately 30,000 volumes, including the justices’ chamber collections. The main subject strengths are criminal law and California procedural law. The collection touches on just about every other area of law. Non-book materials include the Internet and various web subscriptions, Westlaw, LexisNexis, CD-ROM’s, video and audiotapes, and microfiche.
Lending policies are in accordance with the Northern California Association of Law Libraries* (NOCALL) guidelines.

The Law Librarian
Donna S. Williams is the Law Librarian at the Sixth District and a Past President of NOCALL. She earned her Masters in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from San Jose State University, a school accredited by the American Library Association. She holds active memberships in the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL)
and the Northern California Association of Law Libraries (NOCALL)
, a chapter of AALL. She has taught legal research at CJER’s Appellate Judicial Attorney Institute and at the Trial Judicial Attorney Institute.
