Centennial Celebration
"Striving for Justice: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow" Informational Panels (PDF, 1.2 MB)
A brief history of the creation and evolution of the California Courts of Appeal, including the Sixth Appellate District of the Court of Appeal in San Jose. The ten panel exhibit traces the chronology of the courts from the establishment of the original three districts to the current six. The exhibit panels range in content from profiles of significant contributors to the success of the courts to outlining the roles and responsibilities of the Courts of Appeal.
Settlement Conferences
Upon the request of all parties to a pending case, the court will schedule and conduct a settlement conference. The conference will be conducted before a justice of the court or an assigned judge. The settlement conference must be attended by the parties unless counsel or another authorized representative in attendance have full authority to settle.
No justice conducting a settlement conference will participate in deciding the case or discuss the case with any justice deciding the case if the case is not settled.
