These photos chronicle a day in one particular court—the Superior Court of Alameda County—and offer a glimpse of the California judicial system and the people who make it work. U.S. Postal Service employee Townsend McCann begins his day at 5 a.m. sorting mail delivered to the Superior Court of Alameda County courthouse postal station. The station receives more than 10,000 pieces of mail each day for the courts and other tenants in the Courthouse and Administration Building. To locate an address of any court in California's 58 counties, go to the Trial Courts page and use the listing of California Trial Court Judges. The main court locations are listed alphabetically by county, and phone numbers are provided.
