Commission for Impartial Courts

Commission for Impartial Courts

The Commission for Impartial Courts was formed in September 2007 with the responsibility to recommend actions that should be taken by the Judicial Council of California in order to safeguard the quality, impartiality, and accountability of the California judiciary for the benefit of all its citizens. The commission follows up on the work of the statewide Summit of Judicial Leaders of 2006 which was sponsored by the Judicial Council in the wake of threats against the independence of state judiciaries across the country.
