
Commission for Impartial Courts
Public Comment at Steering Committee and Task Force Meetings
Public comments are invited during the 15-minute interval preceding the beginning of committee and task force meetings. Members of the public who wish to address the steering committee or task force should submit a request of no more than two pages to the Commission for Impartial Courts at least four business days before the meeting. Please address requests as follows:

The request should include the following:
- The name of the committee or task force you would like to address;
- The date of the meeting you would like to speak at;
- A description of the subject to be addressed;
- A written transcript of the proposed statement with an explanation of its relevance to the commission and the reasons it would be of benefit to the commission in its deliberations;
- The name, residence, and occupation of the person asking to speak and, if applicable, the name, address, and purpose of the agency or organization that the speaker represents;
- If available, telephone and fax numbers and e-mail address of the person asking to speak and, if applicable and available, telephone and fax numbers of the agency or organization that the speaker represents;
- The words "Request to Speak" displayed prominently in letters at least one-quarter-inch high on the envelope containing the request; and
- A copy of any written materials the speaker proposes to distribute at the meeting.
The Commission for Impartial Courts will respond to the request at least two business days before the meeting. The commission may grant the request in part or whole, request additional information, circulate any written materials, or take other action it deems appropriate.
Open meeting policy
Business meetings are open to the public. Other meetings, such as orientation, planning, and educational meetings, may be made open to the public at the discretion of the Commission for Impartial Courts.
