Jurors: Embodying Justice, Serving the Community
California Celebrates Juror Appreciation Week
May 12-May 16, 2008

This year marks the 10-year anniversary since a resolution was passed by the California Legislature (Assem. Conc. Res. 118, res. Ch.47) that established Juror Appreciation Week as an annual event held the second full week in May.
Each year, the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) teams up with the superior courts of California to recognize the 1.3 million Californians who answer the call to service. Juror Appreciation Week is a wonderful opportunity for the courts and the community to recognize jurors for upholding a core function of our democratic form of government-the right to trial by jury.
Many other states also celebrate Juror Appreciation Week during May, and The American Bar Association (ABA) supports an annual campaign
to promote the occasion.
