Research

CFCC research provides accurate and timely information about current issues confronting today's family and juvenile court system. Using an interdisciplinary approach. CFCC researchers provide consultation on research components of division-wide projects and lead projects that are primarily research in nature. CFCC projects cover population and court statistics, trend analysis, program evaluation, workload and financial indicators, client feedback, literature review and synthesis, case studies, mandated studies, and technical assistance to the courts. Fundamental goals of the research are to improve conceptualization and measurement of the work of family and juvenile courts; increase public awareness of important choices facing the courts; contribute pragmatic information to guide court policies and programs; and use research to enhance the skills and competencies of parents, caregivers and the court professionals who work with them.
