The Judicial Council
is working in partnership with the State Bar's Legal Services Trust Fund
to provide $15 million annually to legal services programs in California.
These programs provide free civil legal services to low-income persons.
Of those funds, approximately $1.4 million is distributed to legal services
programs that offer self-help programs in coordination with their local
courts. Through this partnership, 20 self-help programs have been established
to assist courts in 26 counties throughout the state. Programs include
services for domestic violence issues, guardianships, family law, landlord/tenant
concerns, and general civil matters. Click here for more information about the project, applications and a list of grantees.
