What's
Happening in Court?
Check out What's
Happening in Court? An Activity Book for Children Who Are Going to Court
in California, available in English and Spanish. This book is for
children coming to court whether they are witnesses, visitors,
or involved in a case. It introduces children to the court processes in
which they are or could be involved, the people who work in the judicial
system, and the vocabulary that surrounds judicial proceedings. It is
meant to be used as a teaching tool that may foster conversations between
children and adults about the court system, and a game book that gives
children who are in court something to do while they wait. The activity
book is available in PDF format by clicking on the above link.

Children's Art and Poetry Contests
Discover the talent,
experiences, and feelings of some of California's children and youth through
their poetry and art. You can print copies or read the poetry collections
online and also view names of the children and the titles of the most
outstanding art entries.
The poetry collections
and artwork are the result of the Center for Families, Children &
the Courts' annual Art and Poetry Contest for children and youth involved
in California's court system. The most outstanding poems are published
in a booklet distributed throughout the courts and also provided to many
other organizations that work with children. Click on the links below
to access the collections and the most outstanding artwork winner's names.
