Master List of Certified Court Interpreters of Designated Languages and Registered Interpreters of Nondesignated Languages
The Master List contains the names of certified interpreters and registered court interpreters who are in good standing with the Judicial Council. Interpreters are entered into the Master List after (1) passing the required examination, and (2) officially registering with the Judicial Council.
Currently, court interpreters can be certified in 12 languages: Arabic, Eastern Armenian, Western Armenian, Cantonese, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog, and Vietnamese. A court interpreter of a language for which there is no certification examination is required to successfully complete an English fluency examination and is referred to as a registered interpreter.
