American Sign Language
The Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc. (RID) is currently the only organization authorized by the Judicial Council to certify interpreters for the deaf and hard-of-hearing. Detailed information on the steps to obtain the Specialist Certification: Legal (SC:L) is available on the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf web site.

Spoken Languages
The AOC has contracted with Prometric to administer the Certified Court Interpreter and Registered Interpreter examinations. Detailed information on the test dates and locations, registration, study materials, and appeals process is now available on the Prometric web site.
