Juvenile Delinquency Court, Fresno

Juvenile Delinquency Court

Superior Court of California, County of Fresno
Initial Funding Year: FY 2006-2007

Overview
This project will construct a new juvenile courthouse as part of a planned 12-building Juvenile Justice Campus in Fresno. Consolidating juvenile facilities into a central campus will minimize the cost, maximize efficiency, and increase the security of moving defendants to and from court.

The new juvenile delinquency facility will be approximately 112,400 square feet, and will be shared by county and court occupants. The building's design will include four courtrooms, with the capacity to add two courtrooms at a later date.

Fresno County will develop the project; enter into architectural, engineering, and construction contracts; and be responsible for construction management. The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) will review all design, construction, and final project documents.

The county and the AOC will share the project cost, which will be funded through county-issued lease revenue bonds and will enter into a lease agreement with the state for the court space.

Timeline

This project is expected to be completed Winter 2009.

The date is tentative and may be updated at any time.
