How much money can the tenant ask the landlord to pay?

Generally, the only money the tenant can request in an unlawful detainer lawsuit is:

• Court costs
• Attorney's Fees - if provided for in the rental agreement or by law (See California Code of Civil Procedure, Section 1174.21)
