How can the landlord find out whether the tenant has responded to the unlawful detainer complaint?

After service of the complaint is complete, the tenant has five days to file his or her response with the court. The tenant is also required to have a copy of the response served on the landlord at the address the landlord put on the top left hand corner of the "Complaint." Since unlawful detainer cases are not reported on the Superior Court's on-line docket for a period of sixty days, the landlord should go to the courthouse and look at the court file, if he or she does not receive a copy of the tenant's response in the mail after the five day period has passed.
